The quote I was given was based around the labor rate. It also cited various added costs: 1 hour travel, 12% fuel surcharge, $100 extra for the gun safe, packing materials charge based on usage (unspecified basis). All the specified charges were acceptable, so I expected $800 - $1,000 total. When we arrived at the storage unit, the charge was $1,598, including $610 for packing materials (Two packs of paper pads, shrink wrap and packing tape). I challenged the packing materials charge as outrageous, so the foreman phoned the manager for me. He kept rambling about how careful they are about using padding, because they are professionals and wanted to protect my furniture. But he never explained why TWO packs of paper pads cost ~$600. He finally reduced the packing materials charge by $46, and tweaked the time charge. Instead of $800-1,000, the total cost of my move was $1,465 plus $100 in tips for the 3 workers, who performed satisfactorily.

I would never use this company again, and I will spread the word to whoever I can about this. We were quoted 6 hours for a move that ended up taking 16 hours, and we were paying by the hour!

We went from a 3 bedroom house in Ft. Myers to a 2 bedroom apartment in Ft. Lauderdale. When the movers came to pick everything up, all boxes were in one room and no furniture had to be taken apart.

Two men (one of which who was 50 years old and walked with a limp because he was hurt) showed up late at 9:30 instead of 7:00 and it took them 6 hours just to load the truck. While they were en-route to Ft. Lauderdale, I called customer service to see what can be done to compensate us for all the extra time it was taking. Charlie (the manager) was extremely rude and disrespectful. It was not until 12:30 in the morning that they finally finished! No furniture had to be put back together and all boxes went in to one room. I will never use them again! This was the worst moving experience I ever had!

I originally chose this company because it was family owned and reviews online made me feel very comfortable that my things would be moved carefully and I would be valued as a paying customer. I was sorely mistaken and would not recommend this company to anyone moving 1 mile to 1000s of miles. I had a few things damaged but the insurance policy they offer only covers 60 cents to every pound that item weighs. For the amount that they ruined, it would not even be worth the time to fill out a claims report. I followed up with the moving company because I was very surprised they did not want to do the right thing and fix the damage they caused to its actual fair value, as noted on their website. I was again mistaken that this company would chose to do the right thing and satisfy their paying customers. Please take caution in hiring this moving company- especially if you have anything that weighs little, but costs alot! Very surprised this is a family owned company.

From being over 6 hours late (without a returned phone call from the manager), to literally dropping our items down the stairs, my recent move with this company was a complete nightmare and disaster. I guess I had high expectations. The customer service was outstanding prior to move day, and I assumed the movers would be just as outstanding. Not so much. Horrible experience. Absolutely horrible. Won't use again and will never recommend them.

I called them last week to inquire about a small move; I was looking to move a piano and a couple of armchairs from my apartment to a storage unit in the next town. There are elevators in both facilities, so it was a fairly simple job. I was quoted a fee of $375 plus fuel surcharge for the travel time and the move time. Based on this cost, I booked them. They called me back less than 24 hours before the move to confirm which was basically a new list of minimum hours without any indication that this would cause the cost to go up significantly, to $495. This was only indicated after they conducted the move and received my signature.

ugh, if I could give negative stars I would.

1- Movers were scheduled between 8-10a, got a call the morning of the move to tell me that their truck broke down, can I reschedule?!?! NO I screamed, I really actually screamed! They said they would call back.

2- 10a call, the man said now that a move went late last night and none of the guys were in yet, he thinks another guy would be in shortly so I could have 2 guys, not the 3 as reserved. Fine, just get me moved!

3- 1130a, 2 guys show, tell me if I dismantle some of my furniture it wouldn't take so long and 'it would save me money, really??? I have to take the beds apart???

4- I'm all for smoke breaks if that's your thing, what I find UNACCEPTABLE is the guys smoking in the truck where my personal effects are stored, especially when no one smokes at our house due to people with asthma!

5- scratched the shit our of my walls, hardwood floor, doors, door frames!

6- called and faxed the day after regarding the move, they offered NOTHING. Told me the guys know better than to smoke in the truck but they would have someone come out and fix my walls, that was June 15th.

7- After being blown off twice by Ron, who obviously just thought I would go away, another man got ahold of the person to come and look at/fix my walls. The man finally came August 5th!!!!!!!!!!!!

8- My 6yo could have done better, more respectable repairs. I can't even begin to comment on this or I will be on this point all day!

9- It took almost 4 hours (and I only moved 10 minutes away) to pack and move 2 couches, 3 beds, 2 kids dressers, complete dining room, patio furniture, and a freezer. I'm NOT kidding, my fiance and I moved boxes for 2 weeks, leaving only big things for them to move, thinking it would save us time and money!! WRONG!

10- No true apology!!

*UPDATE* With the help of the BBB, this company offered a $150. refund (about 1/3 of the price I paid). I will have to wait to see if it shows up on my statement.

I am Petty Officer from Naval Weapons Station, Yorktown. I had a bad moving experience on December 5, 2008. I moved from Newport News Virginia to Yorktown Virginia. Distance-8 miles. I spent all my adult life moving, but I couldnt believe some thing this uncomplicated and simple became a dreadful 8 hour for me, my 8 month pregnant wife and the three men and a truck.

After I got my original minimum 4 hour quote (119.00 x 4) from the company and learned the things I need to do to save me some time and money. I packed and marked EVERYTHING in the house, thinking all the movers have to do was just load the truck and unload. I WAS WRONG. Since I am in the military, they assumed the military moves me so; I shouldnt worry about the cost. I told them I am paying out of pocket for this move and begged them to keep that in mind. They simply didnt care. They werent happy to see everything ready to go. They didnt even bring the three big wardrobe boxes I was promised when I scheduled the move. They seemed more indifferent and took their time cautiously? loading the truck.

I work in the logistics department in the U.S Navy and I have high regards for personnel safety. They were carrying one box at a time regardless of weight or size. It was sad and comical to see how they moved. They have decided to spend at least 8 hours no matter what. The greed was evident in the way they took turns to take multiple breaks. At one point the driver reprimanded one of the rookie mover to slow down. By the time they were have way done unloading at the new location they refused to unload until I signed the credit card slip. I gave my credit card and paid 959.00. The fuel surcharge for the 8 mile distance was over 100.00. They broke the single and only big item in my house the leather sectional was put under a pile of other items. When I asked the driver he said this is how they do it.

I don't want others to go through this. The company needs to be accountable for their action or inaction.

Where to begin...this company is a COMPLETE RIP OFF. We had used them before to do a move and were only charged 85 for an hour move (which included the drive time). So we figured we would use them again when we moved less than 1 mile up the road. We called and were told it was going to be 98 for the hour and drive. The movers showed up early, had us sign the paperwork, and did a good job packing our stuff into the truck. (And that is where they get you!

They make you sign when they get there and, then AFTER you sign, they fill in all the blanks) When we arrived at our destination, I received a phone call stating that I owed 294! I was confused as to why I was being charged triple the amount previously stated. I was told the drive was 98 and the move was another 98. We had 15 minutes left on our hour but the driver had told the company we still had an hour left. All we had to move was 12 boxes (which was easily moved with a dolly), a bed, tv, and a few frames. There was NO way we needed movers for 2 hours!

I asked to speak with a manager who, instead of being courteous to the customer, started getting irate and HUNG UP the phone on me mid sentence!! I refused to pay anything more than the amount quoted when I made the reservation. The manager (Steve), called the movers and told them to drive off the lot. Needless to say, my boyfriend threw a fit and refused to move from in front of the truck.

I tried to call him again and see why we were being charged so much, once again he got an attitude with me and hung up on me. We called our lawyer, who then called Steve. Steve rudely hung up the phone on her! The movers (who were quite nice, considering the situation), told us that Steve had called the police on us for refusing to pay. For a company who "boasts" excellent customer service, they sure proved to be the complete opposite.

When I finally got through to Steve, he started spouting off about how the tariffs and taxes and rates are constantly changing and that the longer we took to pay the MORE our bill was going to be, as if that explained why we were being RIDICULOUSLY over charged. At this point, I was beyond frustrated and called the cops to come down.

Steve never called us, instead he kept being an ass (yes, pardon the language but this was the rudest, most immature man I have ever dealt with). My boyfriend finally said he would pay the 294 so we could just get everything moved in our unit. We were then told that we owed 364 because we refused to pay and were still on the clock!! Unbelievable company!! I do NOT know how these people are still in business! We are in the process of reporting them to the better business bureau AND the licensing department. This type of behavior is UNACCEPTABLE! We will NEVER do business with these people again and tell everyone we know to avoid them as well.

In the end, we paid the total and got our things moved out of the truck. We had to call again to receive a receipt of payment after Steve yet again, HUNG up on me. I didn't yell or scream ever at this man and he felt the need to hang up and act like a child. We called corporate who didn't seem to see any problems with the situation and said there was nothing they could do since it was a family owned business. I was told to write a letter and maybe Steve would see the error of his ways....

NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH THESE PEOPLE! HOW ARE THEY STILL IN BUSINESS?! There is a whole site devoted to complaints and issues with this company. They have been fined for unethical business practices. AVOID THEM.

Ernie, Salesman for All My Sons, came to my home and we toured as I showed him what I needed to be moved professionally. I explained, as a single mom, I have a limited budget so I just needed the furniture/heavy stuff taken and I would move the boxes, and other smaller items (lamps etc). At the end of our visit, he printed out a list of furniture etc. that he said they would take on their truck. Saturday morning, George- the team lead says there is no way all my furniture will fit on the truck. I called Ernie immediately, but his phone was answered by someone else who said Ernie was in a meeting all day. So, George said they will start packing the truck and see how much they can fit.

When they had the truck filled, I still had 3 beds, 2 chairs, and plenty of other things that needed to be moved. George had me talk with Jimmy who was yelling at me and telling me there was nothing they could do. He never offered another truck, or any other solution. Just said, "if there's no room on the truck, there's nothing I can do. You paid for 1 truck load." I said "No, I paid for you to take the furniture on the list Ernie gave me." I'm paying by the hour and spent 1/2 hour on the phone with Jimmy arguing about whether I've paid for 1 truckload or 1 truck to take all the items on the list as promised by Ernie.

I called Ernie 3 more times and spoke with Steve each time who assured me each time that Ernie would call me back within the hour. We arrive at the new house and I'm asked to pay before they offload my furniture. George estimates how long it will take them to finish and they charge me according to his "guess" and say they'll refund if the time is less.

Then there is another issue- my bed won't go up the stairs. It just won't fit into the opening. There is another way, but George puts me on the phone with Jimmy again who is yelling again that I have to sign a waiver so they can try an alternative method of getting it up the stairs. Jimmy hangs up on me. Then I receive a call from Steve, the "owner". At first he won't give me his last name. He tells me I'm ridiculous for thinking all the stuff on that list would go on 1 truck. He tells me I'm ridiculous for thinking I was paying to have my furniture moved, and that all I was paying for was for 1 truckload and whatever fit in it.

After calling me a liar, he was denying his salesperson told me they could get my furniture in 1 truck. He wasn't there, he doesn't know what Ernie said. I had a friend/ witness who heard everything. In the end, Steve's solution as to how I was to get the remaining furniture to my new house was for me to continue paying the per hour fee and have the guys go back with their truck to get the rest. I told him I would not pay a dime more to them. They had promised to move all my furniture (which was on that list) and had not fulfilled that promise. Then Ernie called me. He began asking questions and denying he had told me what was on the list was promised to be in the truck. He was talking in a parculiar manner so I asked if he was recording the conversation and he said he WAS! He had conferenced in Steve and was RECORDING the phone call. I said, well that's ok. You can all hear that you lied to me and that you deceived me.
