DO NOT use Continental Van Lines. They cancelled my moved 2 days after it was suppose to be picked up. Was not informed there was an issue until I called to find out when exactly the truck would be arriving. They finally informed me that the house before me filled the truck up and they were looking for another one for me and would call back in a few minutes. I called back an hour later and was assured theyd call when they found a truck. 30 min later a woman calls and offers me a refund. I tell her I dont want one, I want a truck to pick my stuff up and ask her what am I suppose to do. She says take a refund, I'll talk to accounting and hung up on me. I am officially stranded in El Paso with my 9 month old daughter. Rent and utilities are paid til friday and I can't find a mover to get here in time. Upon informing them about this they said its out of their hands once the refund is issued.

I had originally contacted Continental Van Lines to arrange our cross country move from Jacksonville FL to Spokane WA. I contacted Anthony on March 5th to arrange the move and was charged $1500 for our deposit. Anthony was very nice and informed me that if we need to cancel for any reason to call no later than 5 days before the move and we could cancel and receive 100% refund.
My husband and I did some research and read the reviews on the company and decided that this may not be the best company to go with. I called on March 31st to cancel our move with the company, after getting the run around and being transferred from department to department I finally spoke with someone who said they would cancel the move for us but did not have a confirmation number to supply, (that should of been my first warning sign.) I then contacted another company to arrange our move.
On Friday May 9th at 5PM I receive a phone call from a man I can barely understand, due to a language barrier, stating he is at our home to move us! What?!? Not only is it 5PM at nigh but I CANCELLED my move with this company!
I then contact Continental Van Lines and after being hung up on twice finally get to speak with someone who informed me that I never called in to cancel and nobody has been in my account since I made my reservation which is a complete LIE because I had contacted Anthony TWICE after I made my reservation! The gentleman I spoke to basically told me sorry about your luck and that they are not going to refund my money! Needless to say I ended up hanging up on him and calling my CC Company to cancel my card and dispute the charges.
The general manager by the name of Tom Hunt ended up calling us back that evening and speaking to my husband, the call ended with him stating he would refund our money.
It has been 3 weeks and we still have not received a refund! I had to cancel a CC that we use regularly and were dependent upon during our move across country. This company is a true example of the left hand not knowing what the right hand is doing/saying. I would never recommend this company to anyone even my worst enemy! I would hate to see what would of actually happened if they did handle our move!

The worst moving company that I worked with and I move several times in the last 10 years (including oversea). They cheat, lie and destroy your furniture.
Let me go line by line.
Knowledgeable Staff: average crew, slow and with bad attitude.
Condition of Goods: Dining Table, lamp, frames and Ralph Lauren lamps broken.
Customer Service Performance: After calling them 10 times, I finally got in contact with a regional supervisor at 8 PM. Bad customer service.
Accuracy Of Estimate: they never send anyone to my old condo. Result = lack of accuracy
Delivered On Time: it took then 12+ hours to move a 3/3. They quoted 5 max.
Picked Up On Time: they showed up 2 and half hours later than planned.
Price: they quoted $540 and they charged me $1350
Worst experience ever.

once I realized I had more than a full load for one 26ft truck I called continental van lines to see what their prices where. after talking with Tom and going over my belongings he quoted me a worst case price of a little over $2,500.00. Two days before my planned move Craig called me to QA my list of items. After repeating my list to Craig he said that my moving weight was much more than what Tom told me it would be but for an extra $700.00 They could ensure that my new worst case price would be $3,500. The day before my scheduled pick up date the drive called to say he would be at my house between 9-11am. at 2:30 I called the company and they had no idea why they were not at my house, after several phone calls We found out that the driver would not arrive for pick-up till 4:30pm. once they arrived they worked until 10pm. telling me that thier help would not arrive until 11:00pm, just a little late for work in a neighborhood. then next morning the second truck arrived and loaded the remaining items, ( leaving several items laying on the ground they forgot to load after I had told them they had to move all of the pile. two weeks later I recieved my goods, but not before I had to talk to steve 8 different times because the driver told him that my moving weight exceeded what craig had quoted me. then they charged iver $15.00 for each extra box they used, however I packed all items that needed to pack and what the said they packed where items that did not need packed ie. card table, shovel, coolers. over all I was charges more that $3,000.00 then I was first quoted. the communication with Rick, Steve, Craig, and Tom was close to impossable and to top it off when they called to asked how the pick-up process went The lady said, &quot; I wish I would not have called&quot; and then hung up the phone on me. customer service with these people is not good to say the least, I would never recommand this moving company to anyone. I believe they knew from the first phone call that they make a lot more money off me then they first told me. to finish my pain with them, the delivery truck did not arrive at my new home until 8pm and they worked until a little after 10pm.

WOULD NEVER USE AGAIN. WORST EXPERIENCE EVER. AND WOULD NEVER EVER RECOMMEND TO ANYBODY. A LOT OF FALSE PROMISES...DID NOT PICK UP ON THE DAY THAT WAS ON MY CONTRACT. PICK UP TWO DAYS LATE.AND PROMISED TO DELIEVER ON THE 1ST...TODAY IS THE 3RD. THE DRIVER SAID HE WOULD TRY ON THE 5TH...

Continental Van Lines/Coral Springs FL is a scam. They quoted us a price in May 2011. We agreed to it and gave them a deposit. We were told by their customer service group that our pick up was a good date and if there were any problems they would notify us. The customer service group contacted us on the 5th of Aug. and told us that the dates for packing and loading would be done between 8/9/2011 and 8/10/2011. I contacted the customer service 8/9/2011 they told me that they would have someone here 08/10/2011 and they will get us packed and loaded in one day. Then on 08/10/2011 I was told that they were having truck problems and that at no extra cost to us they were dispatching a truck with packing materials but it would not be here until early afternoon on 8/11/2011 no problem I was trying to be understanding and work with them. Then this morning 8/11/2011 I called to verify that everything with the truck was moving forward and the dispatcher had just talk to the truck drive and said that he would be here on time. Then a few minutes alter I was called by the dispatch supervisor and told for them to get the truck here today I would have to pay an extra $900.00..I said that was not in the agreement that we had with them and the supervisor said either pay the extra $900.00 or he will cancel our shipment. As o right now 1:30 pm central time no truck. The people I have talk to at the company would only give first names Frank-Dispatch supervisor, Alex- Dispatcher manager, Doug-customer service and the CVL Rep. Jackie Montgomery. We never met any of these people face to face; everything was done over the phone. I would never use this company again or would I recommend them to anyone.

I used this company but did not know they were a broker and I think I should have been told about this up front. I did not have any major issues other than a couple scratches here and there and a late delivery.

I just think they should be a little more up front on what they are actually providing from the start.

Review: I originally booked my move with another company, but two days before my move they called me and told me they had no truck available to service. In a panic I called Continental, and spoke with Alec Dinero. He was not only able to get someone to move my things in only 2 days notice, but for a lower price than I was paying the original company. My move went great, and everyone there was so friendly. We now have a new home, and new friends with Continental.
