If youâre going to be moving do yourself a huge favor and go with a trusted name. Wheaton worldwide has moved me 4 times in the last 8 years and each move has been a positive experience. I really donât understand how someone could take a chance after reading so many scary stories about moving gone bad!

My family just moved from Cary, NC to Atlanta, GA in March. We did what everyone told us to do and got three estimates. Two estimates were very close and the other was quite a bit cheaper. We choose Wheaton (one of the higher bids) because we felt like the people from their local agent were straight with me. When I asked why one company was so inexpensive they told me that they did not know for sure but warned me about being tricked into accepting an attractive estimate and being charged more later. They stood by their estimate and assured me that if they estimated the weight of my shipment too high that I would be pleasantly surprised when they billed me less.

The crew who came to pack my belongings into boxes were wonderful. They were professional acting every minute and finished quicker than I thought they would. My husband and I just let them in and gave them a few directions and they did the rest. On moving day I was surprised at the amount of care the movers used in protecting my things. They covered the floors and banisters before they did anything. They wrapped almost everything in moving pads inside my house. They wrapped all of my cloth furniture in a plastic wrap. I do not know what else they could do to keep my thing safe. When the movers delivered my things it was more of the same. They worked so hard and steady.

I was told what I owed the day before they delivered. The bill was slightly less than the estimate but a lot more than the low bid I received.

I feel like I made the best choice when I hired Wheaton to move us.

This was our second move with Wheaton and each time they have been great. I got like 20 moving quotes but in the end even though they cost a little more we went with Wheaton based on reputation.

We jut completed a move using Wheaton World Wide form NV VA and could not have asked for more. We moved our parents who are getting up there in age so that they could be closer to us and the move went flawlessly. The employees where very professional and made our parents feel comfortable at all times.

Thanks Wheaton

I have used Wheaton 3 times prior for my business and they where great. Our last move I tried one of those discount movers and what a mistake it was.

I will never go with another cheap mover again as in the end it just cost me more aggravation.

In a word - amazing! We heard about La Habra Relocations through a recommendation from a friend. They were prompt, courteous, professional, and extremely skilled in moving. On the day of our move they arrived on time and went to work immediately. The house we moved out of was split level with two flights of stairs. They handled it with ease - moving appliances, furniture and boxes with care. They listened to all of our instructions both for loading and unloading. In the end we were absolutely pleased - couldn't have asked for more - . nothing broken, not a scratch on any of our belongings, and boxes placed conveniently in the places we had requested. The price we were charged was exactly what was estimated....and it was a great deal. We would recommend La Habra Relocations to any of our friends or family

If I could give more stars, I would.

I have to tell you I was worried about any movers, and these guys exceeded my expectations. Dale, my account rep, was a very nice guy, made great suggestions when he came out, and responded to any of my questions very promptly. I had received an estimate from this company and from Benkins. Benkins was $300 more! We almost booked them because we were thinking they were more trustworthy. So glad we didn't. Glad we were able to save money and get outstanding service. My crew showed up early! (unheard of) and were done in record time. They took the time to wrap all the furniture well. My head guy on moving day, Carlos, was outstanding. So friendly and helpful. I couldn't have asked for anything better. This was a local move from Mission Viejo to San Clemente. From a two story to a single level. I would def. recommend these guys in a heart beat.

Moved from the Wash DC area to Florida. 3 move in 12 years. Have used Mayflower twice before. I received bids from Mayflower, Bekins, and Wheaton. Wheaton's bid was in the middle. Overall, this was a good move, nothing missing or broken. However, I did learn a few things new this time around and I would offer advice to anyone preparing to move. This move could have been much worse, but being actively involved during the entire process was the key to success. 1. Price was negotiated down, about 8%. DOn't let them tell you they can't give you a better price. But, don't believe you will get "something for nothing". If the price is too low, something is wrong (or too high, probably a poor estimate). 2. Watch out for the Internet movers -- regulations have changed and everyone with a truck is moving in. 3. Key is the driver. Ask for the best, plan early and push for a good driver. 4. Use their packers - it is worth it!!! 5. Ask about "cross loading". I have not run across this in my previous moves. Apparently it happens all the time?? Read on: Anyway, what got me suspicious was when the truck came to load, it was a large truck, but it had the local company name on it and the tractor had VA plates. I greeted the driver and mover help. I asked the driver a few general questions, and then, something like "So, all day to load (it was a Friday), will you be relaxing over the weekend before you head south to Florida?" The answer was not what I wanted to hear; "Oh, I am a local driver. We will load you belongings, take them back to our moving warehouse, unload and wait for the NATIONAL DRIVER to arrive -- we will then load his trailer and he (someone else) will drive down to Florida." I thanked him, and told him to wait before proceeding any further -- the other guys had started to move things out on the driveway. Everybody stopped. Long story short and two hours later, calls were made to the local agent rep and to Wheaton national HQ. Wow -- what I heard was amazing and, as mentioned earlier, common. However, I wanted no part of this. I wanted my "stuff" loaded -- once -- and then driven down to unloaded -- once --. Also, because of this scenario, they informed me that my "gauranteed delivery window (3 days) would be missed, but they would put us up in a hotel -- again, wrong answer. They (both local agent and national guy) kept telling me this was in the contract, yada/yada/yada..... However, I insisted and asked calmly (key is to not get upset in this market as everyone is apparantly an ***hole), "When did you know this?" Reply: "week ago". Me: "Why am I hearing of this now (and I did speak to the agent about making sure we had a good driver, national type, etc.)? Them: Silience. Battle 1 completed, victory. Again, stayed calm, professional. Battle plan for next move -- need to get them to somehow load this trailer and not unload/reload for another driver. So, I asked, how can we avoid this "cross load -- as you mentioned, you don't like it either as it is labor intensive?" I suggested to waive my delivery dates by a few days if they could find the driver, have the local agent allow his trailer to be used. Thier move: Silience. Then, push back -- lots of logistical issues, costs, etc. I honed in on the costs as I felt the cross ship was more of on issue for them too. "What costs". They went on to explain driver would drop trailer in VA, pick up my loaded trailer, drive down to FL and then would have to come back. Hmm, I thought $500 in fuel (high estimate, 10/12 hour drive). I offered an extra $250 to help defer costs. Them: Silience, them "I have to talk to my manager (both) -- can we call you back? I agreed. They called back in about 30 minutes and agreed, but asked if I would be a reference (smart on their part I thought). I agreed. So, no cross loading, load would come one day late. I wrote a letter to them a couple of weeks after the move (and since have talked to 2 potential Wheaton clients). I think this was worth my time and $250 bucks. 6. Take care of the help and driver. Lay ground rules. Offer drinks -- buy them all lunch!!! It is worth it!!! 7. Be there, on both ends. Ask about the inventory approach. Good luck!!!!

When my family moved to Rhode Island last year, we moved ourselves. It took a 17[' truck to get all our stuff up there. I packed for what seemed like years. My husband drove the truck and I drove our car. I was not happy about any of this.

When it came time to move back to North Carolina, I was determined not to go through the hassle of another do-it-ourselves move. It would be worth any amount of money in the world not to have to deal with packing, especially packing the kitchen! So I called around. I had 3 different estimates. We decided to go with a Wheaton rep, Atherton & Sons Moving & Storage.

First of all, the person who came to do the estimate was great (Charlie, I wish you could move us this time!) He was very understanding and took the time to explain all the things that would occur with the move, without making me feel like an idiot. He also, at my request, dropped off some various sizes of boxes in case I had the urge to pack some things myself. (I did, and it saved us about $300.)

When moving day rolled around, the crew, including Charlie, was on time and very courteous. They were super-efficient and fast, yet also very careful with our stuff. Our couch and loveseat were both shrink-wrapped, and our pillows boxed. Our other tables, headboards, etc. were quilt-wrapped. There was a great deal of attention to detail paid by the movers. By mid-day, the house was empty and our stuff was outta there!

Our belongings arrived about a week later, and on time. Our belongings arrived safe and sound with no damage at all. We paid the gentlemen and the transaction was complete...or so we thought.

A few weeks later, we received a check for a refund as we had slightly overpaid (about $56.) From past experience, a lot of companies might not even notify you if you overpay anything! So not only did we receive a very competitive initial price, but got a little money back.

My family will be moving again in a few weeks, and I am speaking to a Wheaton rep tomorrow. I was very pleased with our Wheaton and hope to use them again.

Before I begin my review on Wheaton Van Lines, let me say that a move is only as good as the driver that picks up your furniture. We have moved many times, as my husband is retired from the military, and frankly the name on the moving van does not mean a whole lot in terms of quality. Again, it is the driver and his degree of superiority or lack of, that will determine if your move is satisfactory!

Two years ago when we were planning our move from Idaho to Missouri, I had three agents come out and give me a bid to move approximately 18,000 pounds of household goods. There were three very different prices, and we did settle on the low one, as there was a range of $3,000 between estimates. Basically the services were all the same, and yes, there was the agent sitting with his high bid, and telling me all the horror stories of moving. Of course, that was to frighten us so that we would pick the van lines that he represented. He was blowing in the wind as far as I was concerned, because until I could see the exact letters of recommendation of the specific driver that would be moving us, it really didnt mean anything.

For some background information on Wheaton Van Lines, first let me tell you that they have been around for a long time. The company started in 1945, and has won numerous awards through out the years. Although you may not see their trucks quite as much as some of the really big name movers, they are rated top notch by receiving the Good Housekeeping seal of approval for over 30 years, and received two #1 rankings by Consumer Reports magazine. Thats not a bad recommendation, and as I said, our experience was exceptional.

Moving is expensive, and since this was coming out of our pocket, we did all of our own packing over a period of a month. After so much work, we said we would never do it again, but we did. Now we are in total agreement that when we make the next move, we will pay the extra charges for packing. It frankly isnt worth the work, and stress.

We were told that our driver would arrive at a certain time, early in the morning. Our move was a little more complicated because we lived up a winding mountain road, and although the van could get up, it had no place to turn around. We had to pay an extra charge for a shuttle, so our furniture was loaded two times. The additional charge was around $400, which considering the tremendous amount of work, was not that high in my opinion.

The driver indeed was there bright and early, and I must say that I was impressed. The van was so clean and shiny that it looked brand new. Maybe this doesnt seem like a big issue, but it is a reflection on the driver and an indication of what type of care will be given to your personal possessions. He was neatly dressed, and had come with plenty of help. Drivers pay their help themselves, so if you have one trying to scrimp by fewer workers than needed, you can rest assured that he is being cheap. Our driver, Joe came with four helpers, and he was in charge. If something wasnt right, he let them know. Joe supervised every box and piece of furniture that was loaded on the van. He wanted it done right, and it was!
Our furniture was delivered with the same perfection that it was picked-up. We spent some time with the driver having lunch, and got to know a little about him. He had worked for this company for over 20 years, and you could tell he was proud of his occupation.

Wheaton Van Lines is a very reputable company. Their corporate offices are located at
8010 Castleton Road, Indianapolis, Indiana, 46250. The company website is located at www.wheatonworldwide.com, and has first-rate information about costs, discounts, employment, a list of agents, and how to plan your move.

Just remember that because we had probably our very best move with Wheaton, you could have a terrible one with the same company. It just depends on the driver. So, ask for Joe, and you will be treated flawlessly.

They provide great service and the quality is top notch. We did receive many quotes that came in cheaper but when you are giving your lifes belongings to a mover you want to have peace of mind.

Wheaton gives my family that comfort

Our family recently relocated from Florida to New Jersey after doing our research we decided to use crown relocation a Wheaton van lines agent out of Hollywood FL.

The price was considerably more then the independent companies we got quotes from but the work was first class, we could not ask for anything more as far as service.
