Check on sites for more recent reviews. Reviews from 2013 and 2014 seem ok but find the ones from 2015. The majority are bad. Would not recommend this company.
Sales and back-office (by phone) staff were responsive and helpful until after the move. Was promised a credit that never arrived to offset a poor moving experience.
3 movers came and only 1 worked hard. Obviously, this increased the overall move time. Boxes were dropped and items were broken - not enough to file insurance claims for but clearly their movers have no respect for your belongings or their work.
Office promised me a credit and to apply a coupon - as noted above, never received that check.
I would not recommend such an untrustworthy company.
I used Wirks Moving and Storage on March 8, 2014. I was very pleased with the whole experience. First, the office staff gave me quick, ACCURATE information regarding rates and times. The gentleman that called back to schedule an appointment was very thorough, patient with my 100 questions, and professional. The movers were great! They called when to tell me they were 30 minutes away and showed up to the minute on time. Efficient, but not rude, they set right to work and did not dawdle around or waste time talking. They were willing to load more than I originally thought I had without complaining. When we got to my new address, they got right back to work. My furniture and belongings were well wrapped and handled with care. They moved quickly but not sloppily and not one thing was damaged or even scratched. My last movers left dings all over my stairway wall, not these guys. I didn't find any scuffs or anything. Great work, good customer service, quality price. Highly recommended by me!!!
I had a great experience with Wirks Moving and Storage. They were fast and efficient and protected all of my furniture and belongings by properly wrapping and packing the truck. I moved on a rainy Saturday and it was still the smoothest move I have ever made. Thanks, Wirks Moving and Storage!!
Wirks Movers were polite and hard working! They moved a client of mine who had ALOT of antiques. They did a great job. All items arrived safely to her new home in another state. They also were in charge of my move a week later. I chose them because I saw what a good job they had done for my client !! Many thanks to Wirks !
We had a great move experience with Wirks. They showed up on time, provided an additional man free of charge to help with the move, were professional, efficient, flexible and friendly. It felt like family had showed up to help us move and in fact, Wirks hires permanent personnel and so they know each other well and it shows in their work. Everything was wrapped thoroughly and they assisted in dismantling a few items. No time was wasted and the move went faster than we had expected. I would not hesitate to use this company again should the need arise. They really did make the move experience worry-free. JSellner
They were great to work with and very reasonably priced. We had some problems with our closing and Jim was flexible with keeping our things on the truck. Both the packing and delivery groups were kind and respectful. I hope I do not move again for a long time but if I do I will for sure call these guys! V.DuVal
We were totally satisfied with the service performed by Wirks. They were neat, clean, courteous, friendly and very respectful of our belongings. On time and kept to promised schedule. We could not have been happier with the service and professionalism Wirk's displayed. We will refer them and use them whenever we move again. If you have to move...call Wirks! MSchaefer
Wirks Moving is outstanding in every respect! All 5 out of 5 in the above categories, except the estimate which was done over the phone, but still very close. Front office staff excellent, packing and storage was easy, delivery and set up was perfect! All done on time and on days we wanted. Wirks beat the compietion $ by lots!!!! OUTSTANDING X 3 and will use them again on our next move!
We were very pleased with our moving experience. Because our new house was not yet completed when our house sold we used Wirks storage facility as well as moving services. We found the entire experience reassuring and pleasant. The planning, packing, and moving staff were friendly, helpful and careful of our possessions. Although we do not intend to move again, if the occasion should arise, Wirks will be our first phone call. We found their prices reasonable, staff helpful and friendly. In fact, the entire moving experience executed without a glitch! N. Fink
We were very satisfied with the care and consideration the Wirks team took in handling our move. They were on time, very efficient, reassembled our furniture. Would we hire them again?
Absolutely!
I was skiptical at first. They have a few bad reviews on here. My sales rep. Jim explained every circumstance to me. They do thousands of moves a year. When you put that in perspective. A few bad reviews isn't that bad. You can't please everyone. I told jim I would go with Wirks Moving. After all he and the rest of the staff had been so professional so far, and their price was not the cheapest, but it was guarenteed. Not a single other company I received a quote from would give me a guaranteed price. That alone gave me peace of mind. Jim explained that they have lost some moves because of these websites. The problem is all the wonderful moves they have provided customers over the years those customers will rarely take the time to write a review, and the minute you are unable to make a customer happy no matter what hoop you jump through. They will sure take the time to write a bad one. Well Wirks Moving & Storage did an awesome job, and this was the best move I ever had.
I had a bad experience with Wirks. Some highlights
-DON'T make my mistake and go with the low price bidder
-They were the only company that didn't provide an itemized list following the first walk-through
-I paid for 3rd party dis-assembly and re-assembly of my weight machine, but Wirks didn't deliver.
-They used a different crew for my move-in, including an overweight, elderly man who could barely ascend and descend stairs. He leaned so hard on my new banister that it was severely damaged. It had to be repaired afterward.
-They left numerous scratches on my newly refinished hardwood floors.
-They removed the pulls from my beautiful wood media cabinet, which was entirely unnecessary, and then they lost them! I can't find the same cabinet pulls anywhere, and Wirks hasn't helped to obtain replacements. My problem.
-The supervisor just rolled his eyes when I asked them to be careful not to scratch my floors.
-The inventory sheet for the move was completely illegible. In a nutshell, BEWARE!

Was told that all drivers would be Wirks employees, not day laborers. Though the men there moving had on Wirks tshirs, they themselves told us they did not work for Wirks, they were in construction. Some friend of a friend got them this "gig". Then I had 4 boxes that were clearly labeled "FRAGILE: DO NOT PLACE ANYTHING A TOP THIS BOX". Well the boxes were unloaded into my garage from the truck, with my permission, and there were things on top of those boxes. And, of course, there were several items broken though well packed. I could have made a claim but would have had to pay a $300 deductible plus get appraisals on a few of the items that were antiques. I glued together as much as much as could and accepted lesson learned. Carry my own fragile boxes and trust no one.

Receive three Quotes for our move from J&H, Mark the Movers, Wirks Moving and Storage
The Good(Wirk’s): Jimmy B(Sales Rep)was the most confident and professional of all 3 companies, Included the Hot Tub, accurate estimate for our items and the number of trucks required, Tony(Moving Crew Lead)crew stayed moving, courteous and carful with our furniture,Fixed Price,Two 26' Trucks loaded and move completed by 5pm.
The Bad: J&H charged Hourly and under estimated the amount of furniture and Trucks required, would not move hot tub. Mark the Movers charged hourly and underestimated the amount of furniture and trucks required plus gave the impression that we would be signing weavers throughout our move and would not move hot tub.
The Ugly: Only allowing 1000 characters for a review.
Do not over look these guys, we have moved a lot over the past 20 years and this was one of the best movers that we have worked with.
Thanks Jimmy B and Tony, it was a pleasure.

very upset. we were told that the move would take no more than 4hrs and would cost no more than $600. we had everything boxed. their were two men, one came in my home reeking with alcohole and smoke!!i should of known than. seems as though they were taking there time. it took them 14hrs!!! at $99hr it cost almost $1500!! we were pissed!!! this is not our first move.(from out of town) just a couple of years ago, we had a consult, very professional, gave us an estimate of each room and quated us how long and how much. less than $1100, took them 8hours total! we had more stuff than with more furniture! they just had to move us down the street! so slow! never, never, never again. do your research, ask people who have moved a couple of times. we got got! but never again. the guys were not rude but i felt like they took advantage of the time because of where we lived.

Damaged the flooring at both houses and will not take responsibility. NO CUSTOMER SERVICE. Mr. Wirks will not stand behind his people or his company. Insurance? Like Ernie sold us? Try getting them to pay for something they damaged. Don't believe us? Call the Georgia Department of Transporation.....they have a file, and have had one for some time!!!!

Wirk's Moving and Storage damaged the flooring at both the old and the new house. After talking with Ga. Transportation Dept., they are aware and have had dealings with E. McNabb. Mr. Wirk's son went and looked at the old house and said it was existing damage. I asked if his son did flooring, the answer was----He's moved enough to know flooring.
This company doesn't have a hair on there A--!
The floors were NOT damaged and now they are, and we're stuck fizing the old house out of pocket! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY---FOX 5 is my next call!!!!!!!
A note to Mr. Wirks--- You don't stand behind your work or your works--get out of the business. You and I talked and you don't stand behind you word!

If you would like for your belongs to be stolen from you by your movers then Wirks is the company for you! They picked up 32 boxes in Atl and only delivered 28 boxes to Tampa. They refuse to pay restitution for the items missing. I submitted a claim form to them which they ignored. When I threatened them with an attorney they finally replied saying that my claim didn't meet their $250 deductible thus they are not responsible. By the way I only claimed $50/box trying to be fair. Wrong move. I guess I should of claimed the cost to replace my items not their cost used. SOOoo, if you want your belongings stolen from you, call Wirks. They will not pay you restitution and they will not care. They are CROOKS. They will take up to $250 of your stuff and claim they owe you nothing. Plus they will provide HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE customer service. If you get a call from 'Ernie' trying to get your business hang up immediately. He is smooth talking scam artist. If you think I'm kidding. Try them!

contacted and scheduled a move with Wirks. The move was to cost $1450. Pick-up 8 am on 12/20/2010 (monday morning). The sales person (Ernie) guaranteed delivery by 12/28/2010 in Washington, DC. He was also attempting to make the delivery sooner (12/23/2010). As I needed, to reserve an elevator at the destination, I continued to pursue an exact delivery time. On the morning of Saturday 12/18/2010, another person from Wirks, Jim, contacted me to schedule delivery. In the morning, he assured me it would not be 12/23/2010 but it would be on or before 12/31/2010.
Late in the evening of 12/18/2010 Jim called to tell me that not only would they not be delivering by 12/31/2010 but that he really had no idea when the delivery would take place--"maybe the first week of January." Both Ernie and Jim knew that the delivery had to be received no later than 1/3/2011. After 1/3/2011, I would not be available for receipt for several weeks. Late on a Saturday night before my Monday morning move, Jim informed me that the only way I could be guaranteed delivery by 12/31/2010 would be if I paid $1950 rather than the $1450 I was originally quoted for a "no later than" 12/28/2010 delivery.
This is clearly bait and switch. They put me into a terrible position that is now going to cost me thousands of dollars to get out of. I've been forced to cancel non-refundable flights. I'm having to pay much higher numbers for a "no notice" move. I've had to change and cancel all of my holiday plans. They knew full well that I'd never be able to get another mover on Saturday night or Sunday and just expected me to cave to the extortion of an additional $500.
