Horrible Experience - Avoid This Company, Nov 29, 2014
reviewer: Maddie from VA
While the movers themselves were very nice and did a careful job of packing, that's the only positive aspect of this company. Their price and terms changed significantly as the truck was in my driveway, and they tried to double-charge me at delivery. With 3 days to be out of my house, I had to scramble to make other arrangements for half my stuff (at a huge expense) because they said they didn't have room for it. They did not deliver or call on the date they scheduled delivery, nor could the company tell me when they'd arrive. They finally called late in the day, 3 days later, when they were only 15 minutes away. They were angry that I was 30 minutes away from home at that moment. Many of my boxes and smaller pieces of furniture never arrived. Bekins denied losing them. Some carefully packed items in boxes marked "fragile" were crushed. They had no idea how to move my spinet-style piano and actually dropped it off the truck onto its end! They delivered boxes that weren't mine.

A bad surprise!, Jun 05, 2012
reviewer: Barbara from MO, US
We had contracted with Bekins through Joe, a salesman from Ft. Lauderdale with Bekins to move our belongings from Florida to Missouri at a firm price of $15,000. When the truck showed up, it was NOT a Bekins truck, but a Wheaton truck with eight (8) doors. Wheaton has the worst reputation of all movers! Joe had "forgotten" to tell us that the two companies had merged. I went immediately to purchase eight of the toughest locks for the doors I could find and KEPT THE KEYS, despite the many loud and insistent protests from the owner/driver of the truck who was from Trinidad! When the truck was loaded I placed all the locks on it and kept the keys with me. I am certain that only due to this precaution all of our belongings arrived at our new home. We had paid top dollar and were badly deceived by the sales rep. I DO NOT recommend Bekins. The sales rep also made many mistakes on our furniture count had to come back three times to correct them. A lot of money paid by us for a lot of stress.

Bekins steals your stuff, Apr 29, 2012
reviewer: Poppy from Anytown, AT 55555
If you would like to pay someone to steal your valuables, hire Bekins. We hired them to move our household items from California to Ohio. The price was competitive, but it turns out they make up for it by stealing your valuables. They delivered our things to a storage facility where it sat for at least a week before they reloaded it onto another truck before actually transporting to Ohio. Our boxes were probably stored in a damp facility because some of the boxes were damp upon arrival. Our stuff was delivered almost 2 weeks late and several boxes appeared to have been damaged and/or opened and resealed with their tape. A couple of large furniture were damaged and several valuables were missing, including a digital video camera, two Nikon binoculars, and other computer peripherals. They claimed that the boxes were already damaged when they picked them up at the storage facility, blaming the other guys. Ultimately, no one would claimed responsibility for the damaged and stolen items.

Dont Get Fooled, Dec 09, 2011
reviewer: Kalliamos from Chicago Arizona
I made the mistake thinking this was the big national moving company but its not. This is a small fly by night company that preys upon consumers. Run the other way if they call you becuse they use bait and switch tricks to rasie your price more than double !

Horrible delivery experience, Apr 16, 2011
reviewer: Val Wallace from Chicago area to Washington D.C. area
We used Bekins through a local company contracted with them: Boyer-Rosene Moving & Storage of Arlington Heights, Illinois. The delivery of our furniture was awful. It took from 9 a.m. till 11 p.m. to unload our furniture and they used temporary day laborers instead of professional movers, a contract violation. They used a college freshman, his young brother and an unemployed chef. None of them had ever moved anyone before. We had breakage, some during the move and some from how the furniture was loaded on the truck. We have used professional movers before, and this was a different experience. It felt more like the same experience we\'ve had in an amateur move with a bunch of buddies. They were not organized and unloaded everything differently than professional movers do. It was inefficient, stressful and dragged on. We ended up physically helping. We may be missing boxes. Also, a number of boxes we packed had pencil or pen holes, one marked fragile was crushed and another was torn open.
